Maybe you can't find work, or the work you have leaves you going through the motions — aimless, directionless, going nowhere. Or maybe you built the career and the income you thought would be enough — and it wasn't.
Maybe you're single, and some days it feels like nothing will matter until that changes. Or maybe you have the marriage, the family — and there's still a quiet room in you they can't fill.
Maybe your health is falling apart, and you can't think past fixing it. Or maybe you finally got there — and discipline turns out not to answer the question either.
Different starting points. Same ache underneath. Some call it the loneliness epidemic. Others call it the meaning crisis. Call it what it's always been: purposelessness.
What if there was a place where people who actually understand that ache — not because they read about it, but because they've lived it — were building something together? Not a company. Not a movement. What if it was a country — not bound by geography, but by something rarer: people who've stopped pretending the ache isn't real, and decided to do something about it together.
A country for people who know career, love, and health were never built to carry this much weight
Strip away the job title, the health, the relationships, the bank balance — and underneath almost everyone, at some point, asks the same question: what is my life for?
It's not weakness to ask it. It's the most honest question a human being can ask. Here's the harder one, though: when you've actually gotten the thing — the career, the marriage, the health, the money — has it ever fully answered that question? Or did it just quiet it down for a while?
I was ten years old the first time I asked it, not as a philosophy exercise but out of real pain: why am I here? What's the point? I didn't have a word for it then. I just knew something ached.
I spent the next thirty years trying to answer that question — first without even realizing that's what I was doing. I thought the military would give me it. Then higher education. Then chasing achievement, income, relationships — each one felt like it might finally be enough, and each one, eventually, wasn't.
In 2016, I finally named what I'd been circling for two decades: purposelessness. It came through conversation after conversation with people from every kind of background, hearing the same ache underneath completely different lives. I realized I hadn't just been trying to solve this for myself — it was a shared problem, far more common than I'd understood. I spent the next ten years studying, experimenting, and observing, searching for a way to solve this not just for me, but in a way that could apply to anyone, everywhere, at any time. It wasn't until the fall of 2025 that it became clear: the real solution wasn't another book, another course, or another program. It was founding a country — not bound and defined by geography, but by people around the world who've felt the same ache and are still asking the question instead of numbing it.
I'm still living this, not just teaching it — including training for the Olympics in precision shooting at 41, because I understand now that the pursuit itself is part of the point.
I didn't solve this alone in a room, and you're not meant to solve it alone either. That's Modnavia.
Follow David's JournalThis isn't something you finish and forget. It's real people — still asking the same questions, still figuring it out — building a life of purpose together, for as long as you need it. Conversations that don't stay surface-level. Questions that actually get asked. A place where “how are you, really?” is a question people mean.
You don't have to figure this out by yourself, at 2am, with a search engine. Do it with people asking the same questions.

Feeling the ache doesn't take courage. Admitting you want more than what you've settled for — that does. If you're still reading this, some part of you already made that decision.
A place for people who decided the ache was worth answering
